Meet Haugan Elementary!
In January 2022, we were introduced to Haugan Elementary School. Located in Downtown Chicago, their school consists of almost 900 students, most of whom are part of the Latinex community.
Recess and gym is every kid’s favorite time of the school day–a time for them to be active and get out some energy; however, Haugan has nearly 200 students at recess simultaneously. Their “fields” are essentially asphalt and the few balls they do have get taken very quickly, so many students were left with nothing to do.
Now everyone can play!
Thanks to our amazing supporters, we were able to provide Haugan Elementary with new sports equipment—basketballs, volleyballs, soccer balls, cones, and more—so none of their students are left on the sidelines.
